On the Human Condition (The proverbial forest)

Another, more generalized slew from Facebook this week. I thought about posting each separately. May still pick a few later to highlight. It is a lot all at once.

Just because you don't want to hear it doesn't make it any less true.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

~

Friday Food For Thought.

This is how we got here.

Welcome to Vulgaria.

The "Mental Health" Industry

Turning personality types into illnesses. One characteristic at a time.

The road to hell is paved with good intention.

We have to stop judging ourselves against norms and start accepting the wonderful threads in this tapestry of life that we are.

We do not need to be fixed. We need to accept that we are limited. We all need to be nurtured and supported. We all have strengths and weaknesses that, when viewed from a perspective of cooperation rather than competition, link us with support, respect and love...

I wish i could all make you see from this place...

It is so very frustrating

and sad

Feel the need to say it again:

This is how we got here.

Welcome to Vulgaria.

Watch, at least, the first episode of The Century of The Self. Link in comments

The problem with privilege is that everybody seems to think it comes with no responsibility. The truth is PRIVILEGE IS RESPONSIBILITY.

That is all too often abdicated in the name of self interest.

~

Human beings think we put on a good show.

Really, we are a B-rated farce.

~

The truth may set you free. However, in this world, that is a harsh and lonely place.

Car Culture is just one of countless manifestations of our REAL problem:

Our arrogant egos

~

Rationalizing and mitigating bad behaviour towards yourself, or anyone, is not taking personal responsibility. It is accepting, enabling and perpetuating ABUSE.

People really need to watch this. I am currently on episode 3. I have watched it many times since I came across it during my studies in Business Management. This BBC series clearly identifies and illustrates how many of our societal issues developed through the intentional manipulation of the masses using psychological tactics to control us as citizens and transform us into captive consumers.

~

"Democratic Capitalism" has created so much social and political conflict... and, consumerism has consumed us.

We have allowed ourselves to be turned into a bunch of selfish jerks.

Wanna see how? Watch The Century Of The Self.

Episode 4 explains how they tricked us out of buliding lives and into buying lifestyles.

Episode 3 shows, how they began turning us into consumers. Shifting our sources of esteem from moral values to image. And, among other things, how civil rights leaders discovered that being opressed was the key to Black Power... that was a really disturbing revelation... "By trying to turn them into liberated individuals, Esalen (Institute) was removing the one thing that gave them power and confidence in their struggle aganist racism. Their collective identity as Blacks." Being liberated threatened their identity...

Episodes 1 and 2 show how they got into our heads, first to control us as a society, then to lead us around by our individual amygdalas.

Everything is sound. We are not solid. We are energy congealing and vibrating. Frequency.

We have to stop seeing GOD (Good Orderly Direction) as a separate being. We are A PART. Not APART.

"Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

Isaiah 49:16 (KJV)

~

We are too focused on the flesh.

Christians. Forget about "The Christ". Pick up your bibles and just read the red words.

Jesus is The Word Made Flesh. We are supposed to listen to him and FOLLOW HIM. Not just call him "Lord, Lord" (Luke 6:46).

Non-Christians. Ask Buddha. He knows.

~

The notion that a person needs to be "productive" to have "value" worthy of support from society flies in the face of basic human rights.
